The South and East Lincolnshire Climate Action Network (SELCAN) is looking for members to come forward to represent the public and private sectors, as well as charitable organisations. The network meets once every six weeks or so and provides a space to discuss environmental i issues and drive forward projects that support our communities and local businesses to become more sustainable and respond to climate change.
Some of our members were keen to share their experiences of working with the network for your interest and can be found below:-
“The environment is not only our source for food, the air we breathe and the homes we live, but is something we all need to protect for the future generations. SELCAN has really helped me feel like I can make a difference in the local economies impact on the environment. We often feel our single voice or actions aren’t loud enough, but SELCAN has helped me to have a larger impact locally. If you are truly interested in the environment and the wider green agenda and are located within the South and East Lincolnshire region, the SELCAN group works together to promote local and regional agendas as well as coming up with suggestions of activities to promote the wider cause. Through my involvement I have met some fantastic people from different organisations and really enjoyed working together collaboratively to make a better future for South and East Lincolnshire.”
"Being able to participate in a local climate action network is empowering and also compensates for the frustration and disappointment felt at the lack of action both nationally and globally."
